TUFFSHIELD – PMBM

(HIGHLY ELASTOMERIC BRUSH APPLIED COLD MEMBRANE) (WATER SOLUBLE)

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: a. The application surface must be clean and free from dust, grease and loose particles. Surface may be damp but not saturated. b. Old distressed membrane, Cement punning or distressed mortar shall be dismantled and cleaned with emery cloth and wire brush to get rid of any loose mortar, Laitance, dead membrane or any other foreign particles. c. Disentangled joints and cracks shall be chiseled 'u' groove and cleaned with water jets. 'u' groove shall be filled with TUFFSHIELD-PMBM by spatula/ Gun or putty knife. d. Achieve a smooth seamless surface with 'TUFFSHIELD MORTAR PLUS' Mortar of minimum 10-15 mm thick as per mix design stipulated in Literature. Allow the mortar to cure for 48 hours with normal curing practice. e. Apply TUFFSHIELD-PMBM Primer (1PBW TUFFSHIELD PMBM: 2PBW clean water mixed thoroughly) by 100 mm paint brush over TUFFSHIELD MORTAR PLUS surface. f. Sufficient Stirring is advised before application with brush/ roller. It is recommended that minimum 2 coats shall be applied by 100mm paint brush preferably with fibre glass mesh sandwiched in between two coats. First coat shall be applied in one single direction and allow 3-4 hours touch dry hydration prior to application of second coat to the opposite direction to achieve a seamless surface. g. Quartz 10/ stone dust or gravels below 3mm shall be sprinkled over TUFFSHIELD PMBM in tacky condition of the final coating. Allow 48 hours before traffic protection mortar is laid. h. Laying 20mm of traffic protection TUFFSHIELD MORTAR PLUS shall be carried out as per mix design given in literature. PACKING: 20 Kg Packing. PRIMER/MEMBRANE COVERAGE:  50-60 Sq. ft. per one coat per litre of prepared primer. Mix ratio as per application technique.  15 Sq. ft. to 18 Sq. ft. per 2 coats / per Kg of TUFFSHIELD-PMBM.
